When the unthinkable happens to you, we want you to have access to the resources that are available to you. We put this together to try to help as we didn't have anyone to help us with this. We want you to know it's ok to feel confused there is no right or wrong way to do this and whenever you feel you can and have the energy this is just a guide to help you in your time of grieving. CVRC

Formed in 1981 under the Crime Victims Reparation Act, CVRC is dedicated to providing a variety of services to victims of crime. Our mission is to provide financial assistance to victims of violent crime in regard to expenses incurred as a result of being victimized.

OMI

The Office of the Medical Investigator (OMI) was created by the New Mexico State Legislature in 1972. Replacing the county coroner system with a statewide medical examiner system, the OMI was tasked with investigating all reportable deaths occurring in New Mexico, to subsequently determine the cause and manner of death in such cases, and to provide formal death certification.

Sometimes it's hard to talk about our problems with family and friends. As trained crisis hotline specialists, our volunteers are ready to provide compassionate, non-judgmental help for anyone in need of emotional support.

MDC - Metro Detention Center Albuquerque

In your case, if a suspect is going to be released from jail you must call prior and ask the jail to inform you. Hopefully the detective or DA will notify you, but that is not always the case. Call (505) 839-8700, select option 4, or ask for notification when prompted.
